Vegan Hot Chocolate

Hot chocolate is one thing I can't go without during the holiday season. Whether that means drinking it while out and about shopping for presents, or curled up with a mug watching Christmas movies, it's such a wonderful treat.

Recipe 1: Hot cocoa
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2-4 tsp. sugar depending on desired sweetness
- pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 cups almond milk (can sub milk alternative of choice)
- dash of vanilla

Combine cocoa powder, sugar, salt and water in a medium pan and simmer over medium heat until cocoa and sugar are dissolved. Add in 2 cups of milk and bring to a simmer again. For extra flavor, add in a dash of vanilla before enjoying. Serve with your favorite vegan marshmallows or some coconut whipped cream.
