We take what goes into every product and recipe seriously because we believe that you deserve the best. At Coconut Whisk, we work with 3 main ingredients in our products: chickpea flour, brown rice flour, and organic coconut sugar. Check out what we're workin' with below.

 


CHICKPEA FLOUR

Chickpea flour is the star ingredient in all of our products believe it or not. No relation to chickens of course, chickpeas is a legume that has an abundant amount of vitamins, nutrients, and minerals. If we didn't love coconuts so much, we would've named our company, Chickpea Whisk. 
 
The benefits: 
Chickpea is not only a protein source, there's also dietary fiber, resistant starch, polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals, especially folate, calcium, magnesium, and potassium.

BROWN RICE FLOUR


When creating our recipes, we didn't want to simply use regular wheat flour due to the gluten present in it. So we chose brown rice flour instead. This versatile option is packed with better-for-you qualities!
The benefits: 
When it comes to brown rice, we love it because of the fiber, minerals, vitamins, phytochemicals and it's lower impact on blood sugar levels. #winning

 

 


ORGANIC COCONUT SUGAR
 
Our favorite ingredient of all (but shhhh, don't tell the others). This powerhouse ingredient is our fav because of it's low glycemic index and light flavor. We promise to use only organic, non-GMO and unrefined coconut sugar because you deserve that. 
The benefits: 
Coconut sugar contains mineral and vitamins like iron and zinc. There's also a decent amount of flavonoids, anthocyanidins, and polyphenols. These phytonutrients help to reduce inflammation, cholesterol and blood sugar. Last but not least, this superfood contains inulin. Inulin has the ability to stimulate bifidobacteria, a form of probiotics, which helps boosts the immune system. 
Moral of the story? Coconut sugar is a better option than many other sweeteners.

 

 

 
THE WHOLE CREW
We also work with 100% cocoa powder, dairy-free chocolate chips, arrowroot flour, tapioca starch, organic ground flaxseed, organic gold vanilla bean powder and will be diligently adding more nutrient-dense, healing foods to our collection of products!
Now, let's talk about sugar! We don't want to skip over this topic because like we mentioned before; transparency and honesty are what we're built on. We do use organic cane sugar and organic brown sugar in some of our products (we're looking at you cookies!). So if you're someone who's a bit more shy with sugar, we get it! It's all about moderation and eating mindfully. We believe that health means hearty salad bowls but also the occasional indulgence of sweets. 
 
Fun fact: 
 Since chickpea alone doesn't make up a complete protein, combining it with brown rice does. So, good thing we use both chickpea and brown rice flour in all of our products!
